Staff Member of the Month for September
(Staff Member of the Month is chosen and voted on by Panther Press students.)
This month’s Staff Member of the Month goes to Ms. Kerry George. Ms. George is one of Collinsville’s Child Nutrition Program workers. As some of the hardest working people on campus, our school’s Child Nutrition Program is not for the faint of heart; the work is fast-paced and hectic. Ms. George sat down with Panther Press reporter Chloe Racine to talk about herself inside and outside of the lunchroom.
Q: How long have you been working at Collinsville?
A: Nine years including subbing.
Q: What are some of your favorite things about working here?
A: Watching my daughter and the other kids at school growing up.
Q: Do you live in Collinsville? Do you have a connection to Collinsville like children or other relatives who go to school here?
A: Yes, I do. My daughter, my husband graduated here, and my mother in law used to work here.

A: I don't have a favorite. I enjoy everyone's company. Even talking about the coaches that play sports.
Q: What do you wish students knew about your job?
A: Work hard for all the kids. Do our best to make food that they will all love.
Q: What other job might you have chosen if you didn’t work at Collinsville?
A: Any job dealing with animals.
