Recently, Mrs. Clanton's 3rd grade class participated in a project meant to teach both a state standard and a lesson in giving.
The standard and skill being taught was for students to recognize and follow a sequence of events. They did this through puzzle making; students decorated each puzzle piece with drawings like flowers, balloons, and hearts, and included a sweet message to Ms. Jackson, Collinsville's snack store manager. The final product is a get-well card in the form of a puzzle.
