This past weekend, Collinsville had their annual Turkey Trot event in downtown Collinsville that is hosted by the Collinsville Historical Association. Turkey Trot, like I mentioned before, happens annually and there is live music, arts and crafts, a car show, a petting zoo, pony rides, a silent auction, a turkey toss and more!
Collinsville High School had their Panther Shop set up at Turkey Trot where they were selling scarves, hats, shirts, and etc. Also Collinsville High School’s FACS Teacher Mrs. Arnold was selling candy apples at Turkey Trot, very delicious! The Collinsville Fire Department also sponsored a corn hole tournament in which many citizens thoroughly enjoyed.
There were also special guest visitors such as Chase and Skye, from Paw Patrol, Poppy and Branch, from Trolls, SpongeBob, and also The Minions. It was so awesome seeing how excited the kids got when they saw their fan-favorite characters. The kids took pictures with the characters and hugged them. I was fortunate enough to get to dress as a character and join in on the magic created for the younger kids!
Turkey Trot wouldn’t be possible without the Collinsville Historical Association and those who take the time and work hard to set up at this event. Thank you to the Collinsville Historical Association for hosting this memorable community event!
