Jameson “Cooper” Coker is a Senior and class President of Collinsville High School. He probably has more school spirit than anyone you have ever seen. He is a member of FCCLA (Family Career and Communities Leaders of America, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), FCA(Fellowship of Christian Athletes), CPN (Collinsville Panther Network), Peer Helpers, Teens Together, Panther Press, Science Club, and Beta Club. Jameson is also a dual enrollment student through Northeast Alabama Community College. He was a linebacker/ wide receiver for our varsity football team and the centerfield of our varsity baseball team which is hosting the first round of playoffs this Friday. Jameson was asked his favorite memory from sports, which he said “Beating Geraldine in the 9th grade to make the playoffs for the first time.”
He is a born leader, and is the person everyone can come to. He also plays a huge role in our community. He is always up for community service and sings in the choir of the First Methodist Church of Collinsville. He is big on his faith and spreading the love that Jesus has for all of us. Jameson is not only my best friend but also one of my biggest role models.
Jameson loves being in high school and is sad his time at Collinsville High School is coming to an end, but he is excited to see where his journey takes him. He said his favorite part of high school is, “Getting to play sports with my best friends and an amazing community support system.” Jameson’s future plans are to attend NACC for a year to finish his associates degree. Then transfer to Auburn on the poultry science program and study veterinary medicine. His biggest inspiration is his parents. “They are the type of people that would drop anything to help a person in need, and give one hundred percent of their effort on everything.”
Collinsville High School and I will both miss Cooper and all the things he brings to the table. I pray he will be blessed in the life he is soon to create, and will always love and cherish his time as a panther!
