In October, at Collinsville High School, several elementary teachers participated in the pumpkin walk through. Elementary teachers over the past week have painted or decorated pumpkins in many different creative ways. Our younger students have walked through the hallways judging the pumpkins (voting on the one they think looks the best). All students who participated in the voting ranged from grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students were able to determine which pumpkin they liked the best by votes that could be purchased, two votes for $1. The money raised goes back into projects around the school such as mulch, picnic tables, etc. The students walked through the halls to different classroom doors, and at the end they would stick their ticket in the box of their favorite pumpkin. The students enjoyed watching the hallways of the elementary school come alive with the fun and festive pumpkins. All teachers ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade were able to participate in the event if they decided to do so. The pumpkin walkthrough has been an event at Collinsville High School for the past three years and both teachers and students look forward to it every year. Kids love to participate in this activity and look at all of the creative pumpkins! This year's Pumpkin Walk Through winner was Mrs. Clifton! Her pumpkin was voted best by all of who participated. Congratulations Mrs. Clifton!
