MLS NextFest: Jan Segura

Jan Segura is a Senior at Collinsville High School who got the opportunity to represent Hoover Vestavia Soccer at the MLS Next Fest in Indio, California. The MLS Next Fest is held every year in the United States by Major League Soccer. The event typically features a series of matches, training sessions, and scouting opportunities. Clubs all over the country get to showcase their talent for a chance of winning the MLS Next Cup. Jan got to spend five days in California to play in front of 72 College Coaches. Jan’s favorite part of the trip was the second day, winning a game with his best friends on the field. He reported that afterwards they took pictures to remember the moment. The opportunity to display his talent in front of colleges to play to the next level kept Jan motivated throughout the five days. Jan advises younger soccer players to “learn from your mistakes and always believe in yourself even when nobody else does. Only you know how far you can really go!” Congratulations Jan Segura!
