Collinsville Continues to Succeed

In the 23-24 soccer season the Collinsville Lady Panthers were the first to win the Dekalb County Tournament which was hosted at Chad Hawkins Stadium for the first time ever. The Lady Panthers first defeated Sylvania 4-0 in order to advance into the final in which they would play Crossville. Collinsville defeated Crossville and took the title of being the Dekalb County Champions. 

The 2025 Dekalb County Tournament was hosted at Crossville on April 3rd-5th. Collinsville girls traveled to Crossville on April 4th where they played Geraldine at 3:30pm. Collinsville ended up defeating Geraldine 9-0 and would now play in the finals once again. Saturday came and the Lady Panthers were ready to take it home again. They defeated Crossville 4-0 to be named once again the Dekalb County Champions. Lili Mann(Senior), Camila Garcia Nieves(Senior,Captain), Nayeli Mata(Senior,Captain), and Melanie Cantor Cornejo(Junior) were selected to the 2025 Dekalb County Varsity Girls All-Tournament team. Melanie was also selected as the MVP for the girls tournament and then for the boys tournament Aaron Herrera was selected MPV. Yensi Flamenco (Junior,Captain), Jan Segura (Senior, Captain), and Jinen Shukal (Senior) were members of the All-Tournament team. 

In a thrilling display of hard work and skill, the varsity boy’s soccer team triumphed over Geraldine to advance to the finals. The match against Geraldine was intense, with both teams showcasing their best efforts. However, the varsity boys managed to secure a victory with a 4-1 final score. The final against Crossville was nothing short of dramatic. The game was very much exciting with both teams giving their all, resulting in a tie that led to penalty kicks (PKs). 

The defining moment came when Luis Felipe took the winning penalty kick. With composure and precision, he sent the ball past the goalkeeper, securing the victory for his team. The crowd erupted in cheers as the varsity boys stormed the field for their hard-fought win. Their victory not only demonstrated their skill and teamwork but also their resilience and determination to succeed under pressure.
